DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The ADXN product range is composed of the most compact 6 - 45A soft starters in the LOVATO Electric lineup, with a width of just 45 mm, divided into  2 construction sizes depending on their current rating.

They stand out for their ease of configuration, which enables quick and user-friendly set up of a reduced number of parameters, thus reducing commissioning time to a minimum.

They are ideally suited to a variety of applications, including pump, fan, compressor, conveyor and mixer control.  

The entire range is rated for a wide range of line voltages, running from 208 to 600 VAC nominal, which makes them compatible with any market, including North America, without the need to manage different codes to match the voltage of the installation. ADXN soft starters are available with two control voltages:    24 VAC/DC, typical of automation systems, and 100-240 VAC, ideal for pump control systems, among others.

They are available in 3 versions:

The Basic version (ADXNB) offers extremely simple configuration of a solution dedicated only to soft starting and stopping.

Configuration requires the user to set just 3 parameters (starting voltage, acceleration ramp and deceleration ramp), regulated by 3 front panel potentiometers.

The NFC version (ADXNF) is a smart and flexible solution featuring NFC connectivity for configuration using Android and iOS smart devices with the LOVATO NFC app.

The app's graphic interface sets the parameters digitally in an accurate, repeatable way, and the user can set a password to protect his settings from tampering by unauthorised users.

It is also possible to save configurations to the smartphone so that they can be copied on other soft starters of the same model, even with the device powered off, which is ideal for users needing to program devices in series.

The factory settings make this version ready to use in controlling scroll compressors, as used in air conditioning, chiller and heat pump applications.

However, the starter's settings can be changed over an NFC connection to enable it to control any sort of load, including pumps, fans and conveyors, making the ADXNF version ideal for a vast range of applications.

The Advanced version (ADXNP) offers high performance motor control, integrated electronic thermal motor protection and communications, and is IOT 4.0 ready.

With its integrated current transformers, the ADXNP version optimises the starting ramps by automatically adapting them to the load with a configurable current limit.

It also has integrated electronic thermal motor protection, with the option of configuring separate protection classes for starting and normal operation.

It has front panel potentiometers for setting the basic parameters (starting voltage, acceleration ramp and deceleration ramp, which can also be locked) as well as NFC connectivity for advanced programming with the LOVATO NFC app of parameters like nominal motor current, thermal protection class, password, protection thresholds and tripping times, communications parameters, relay outputs function and alarm properties.

The front optical port enables connection of optional USB (CX01) and Wi-Fi (CX02) communications devices for programming, data downloads and diagnostics with a PC.

ADXNP soft starters can also be equipped with the optional RS485 (CX04) communication module for connection to a Modbus-RTU master like a PLC or HMI, or for integration into a monitoring and supervision system, an increasingly important requirement in recent years with the adoption of Industry 4.0.

LOVATO Electric’s new ADXN soft starters are cULus, EAC and RCM compliant.

Their ease of use and compact footprint makes them the ideal solution for motor protection and control, especially for panels with limited space.
